Last few years have seen Android capturing the global SmartPhone market very aggressively. A recent report released by Strategy Analytics states that 8 out of 10 SmartPhone users in the world have Android OS running on their devices. With so much buzz around Android - the latest being the launch of Android 4.4 Kit Kat in a couple of days, we decided to have a look into the usage behavior of an Android SmartPhone user.

Our On-Device Meter data reveals that an Android user spends more than 4 hours on his/ her device - the engagement level being the highest for Online apps which contribute to 38% of the total usage. Offline activities [playing games, listening to music etc.] and traditional activities like Calls & Messaging together account for 50% of the total time spent on device while only half an hour is spent on Browsing.
