The last few days saw Google launching two new apps - ‘Google Fit’ - its answer to Apple’s health app and ‘Inbox by Gmail’ - its new standalone email app. With features like snooze, reminders and bundles [which puts together reminders, emails etc], Google has definitely tried to reinvent and ensure that they don’t have another Gmail app.

Whether Inbox will make inroads on the SmartPhones globally, only time will tell. Till then, let’s look at how ‘Gmail app’ is used by our ODM panelists across markets in this week’s newsletter.

Our data reveals that Gmail app is more popular in the US and India. While users from US spend around 3 hrs per month on the app, engagement in the other countries is very low.
