Photo sharing wasn’t as much fun as it is now thanks to Instagram. The app which was launched four years back just for photo sharing has come a long way to become a major player in the social networking space. In fact so much is its popularity that a recent research reveals that teens now prefer using Instagram over Facebook and Twitter. The app penetration in the last four years hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down and it looks like it will continue to lead the photo sharing space for a long time to come. On its 4th birthday, we decided to have our weekly newsletter on Instagram and check its usage in US and India.

Data from our on device meter reveals that Reach for Instagram app is around 3X higher in US than that in India while engagement is 2X higher. Americans are seen to be more active on the app post ‘Late Afternoon’.
