In an attempt to criticize Florida Governor’s Ron DeSantis chaotic entry into Republican primary nominations, Donald Trump‘s son unintentionally insulted his father instead.
What Happened: Donald Trump Jr., who wanted to take a jab at DeSantis after Florida declared his candidacy in a Twitter launch marred by technical issues, ended up swapping his father’s name with that of his 2024 opponent.
The incident happened when Trump’s eldest son ranted about DeSantis’ Twitter Spaces campaign launch, which he called a “Disaster.” Donald Jr. criticized DeSantis for what he perceived as “basically reading, like, an op-ed what he was going to do.”

He stopped briefly after the mixup but continued his criticism of DeSantis, accusing him of being a flip-flopper who continues to dodge questions surrounding his stance on the Ukraine war.
The ex-president’s son said his father’s opponent has a “nasal and effeminate voice,” claiming “it was that bad.”
