Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) took a jab at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, saying a much larger audience watched her play video games online than listened to the 44-year-old governor’s glitchy debut speech.
What Happened: AOC on Thursday took to Twitter to reply to a tweet from a journalist who said DeSantis’s presidential campaign launch moderator “ludicrously made up that Ron DeSantis’ Twitter space was the largest group that ‘has ever met online.’ There are 100,000 people in this thing.”

“We had more people join when I played Among Us,” AOC said while quoting that tweet.
The planned official launch of the DeSantis campaign, featuring a Twitter interview with Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk, encountered technical difficulties during the broadcast on Wednesday. Many viewers experienced intermittent sound loss; some could not join or were unexpectedly dropped off.
The moderator, David Sacks, claimed that Twitter experienced glitches because the DeSantis campaign launch was the “biggest room” ever held on the platform. Musk also retweeted his post.
