PurposeCare, a leading provider of coordinated home care and home health services in the Midwest, announced today the acquisition of Home Sweet Home In-Home Care (“Home Sweet Home”), a St. Joseph, Michigan-based independent home health care agency that has provided high-quality services to southwest Michigan residents since its inception in 2011. Home Sweet Home has enjoyed a sterling reputation within the community for delivering outstanding care and is well respected by all stakeholders in the company including clients, referral partners and payors.
“We welcome Home Sweet Home to the PurposeCare family as our first Michigan-based agency supporting our continued growth and expansion throughout the Midwest,” says PurposeCare chief executive officer, Rich Keller.
The acquisition will provide additional depth to PurposeCare’s suite of home health care services. PurposeCare, a portfolio company of Lorient Capital, provides home based care services to more than 3,000 clients a week. The company’s primary audience are individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. The PurposeCare platform is focused on leveraging the caregiver’s presence in the home to identify changes in its client’s condition, enabling a timely clinical intervention from the nurses and therapists on the PurposeCare team. With the acquisition of Home Sweet Home, PurposeCare will expand their services to an additional 400 patients and more than 300 caregivers.
“We are thrilled to join the PurposeCare family as their mission and principles align well with ours,” says Eric Pumfery, chief executive officer and founder of Home Sweet Home. “Being part of something bigger during a time when home care is becoming a significant portion of the healthcare landscape is very exciting.”
Home Sweet Home was represented by Mertz Taggart, who provided exclusive M&A advisory services in connection with this transaction.
PurposeCare is excited to bring its portfolio of companies under one brand and one mission. PurposeCare is the parent company of Purpose Home Health, Alliance Home Health Services, A1 Home Health Care and A1 Nursing Care, Newsome Home Health Care, and Honor Home Health serving the Midwest. PurposeCare announced the acquisition of these five agencies November 2022.
“We are excited about our new unifying brand and this expansion into Michigan with a like-minded organization dedicated to empowering care teams to ensure clients live their best lives in community,” shares Rich Keller, chief executive officer, PurposeCare. “We truly believe that ‘at PurposeCare, ‘your care is our purpose’.”
