Health and fitness apps are gaining popularity; as is evident from Apple and Google joining the bandwagon with “HealthKit” and “Google Fit” apps respectively. There are hundreds of health apps available today helping users track the distance jogged or how many calories they have burned, or getting reminders about their medical check-ups and handy medical advice. In today’s newsletter, we look at the current usage of Health & Fitness apps among Android Smartphone users in the US.
Our ODM data reveals that the Health & Fitness category has a strong reach of 35% and users spend 6 mins. per day on these apps. Reach of this genre is around 2X more among females than that of males. S Health, from the Samsung stable, topped the list of apps in this genre followed by Calorie Counter and Nexercise.
