Mobile data is increasingly becoming the primary channel for accessing Internet across APAC region. This week we explore whether there’s any similarity in data consumption pattern across the countries in the region?
Our On-Device Meter helps us understand differences in data consumption across the 5 important markets i.e. Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and India in the APAC region. Our data shows that SmartPhone users in Indonesia and India are primarily on Cellular data while for the rest of countries Wi-Fi plays a major role.
Based on time spent, Social Networking, Browsing and Chat are the top 3 online activities on SmartPhones - but there are visible differences across countries. SmartPhone users in Indonesia and India spend maximum time on Browsing while users in Thailand on Chat.
