The past few years have seen SmartPhones emerge as the primary device for accessing internet on-the-move. With such prominent use, it has been predicted that by 2018, more than 50% of the users will be using SmartPhones for all their online activities. Hence, in our this week’s InfoFlash, we decided to look at how engaged our Android panelists from US were on online activities in 2014. While the trend shows a rise in the total engagement, there is not much difference in the time spent across gender. Users aged between 15-35 years spend higher time being online.

Youth from US Most Engaged on Smartphones!

As per our data, young users from the US spend more than 5 hours on their phones per day. While Facebook is the most engaging app amongst youngsters from US and Philippines, those from India, Indonesia and Malaysia have highest engagement on Chat apps. Number of images clicked highest amongst users from Philippines.

Candy Crush Soda Saga makes a promising debut on Smartphones!

Candy Crush Saga has, undoubtedly, been the most played game on Android Smartphones for a couple of years now. However, its usage seems to be decreasing month on month. While it is still the no. 1 game played, looks like its streak is going to end soon thanks to its own sequel game “Candy Crush Soda Saga”.

Candy Crush Soda Saga, which was launched in last November, got a smooth entry. In just 2 months, it is the 2nd most game played after Candy Crush Saga and it has managed to garner reach similar to that of original game. Engagement on both these games is same.

Is this just the initial excitement for Candy Crush Soda Saga or will it also have a fantastic run like Candy Crush Saga only time can tell. Till then let us wait and watch.
